In the Beginning ——

Ethel Annie Evison EichenbergerAs this is my first blog post, I’d like to tell you about the person who inspired me to begin the search for my ancestors.

Her name is Ethel Annie Evison Eichenberger and she is my grandmother.

My family lived with my grandmother for a few years in a tiny little cottage near the river in London, Ontario, Canada.  One day, I was looking through the drawers in the furniture that was stored in the basement and I found a book called, The History of the County of Middlesex, Canada

The History of the County of Middlesex - Samuel Eichenberger

I showed the book to my Grammie and she told me that there was a story about my great, great grandfather, Samuel Eichenberger, in the book. I remember thinking at the time that I must be a very important person if there was a story about one of my ancestors in a book!

Years later, after my grandmother died and I retired, I remembered the book (which I mysteriously had in my possession) and I decided to start on the journey to find my ancestors.

And the rest they say is history —-
